Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2025
Welcome to NanoImage. This Privacy Policy explains how nanoimage.net ("NanoImage," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our website and image tools.
By using NanoImage, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Overview
NanoImage provides free online image tools that help users compress, resize, crop, convert, edit, and clean up images.
Our core privacy principle is simple: where possible, your images are processed directly in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers.
Some future features may require server-side processing, such as AI tools, URL-to-image tools, advanced conversion tools, or high-volume batch processing. If a feature requires uploading files, we will make this clear in the product interface.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Images and Files You Use With Our Tools
For browser-based tools, images are processed locally in your browser. In these cases:
- We do not upload your images to our servers.
- We do not store your images.
- We do not view your images.
- Your images remain on your device unless you choose to download or share them elsewhere.
If a specific tool requires server-side processing in the future, we may temporarily process uploaded files only for the purpose of providing that tool. We will provide notice in the tool interface when server-side processing is used.
2.2 Technical and Usage Data
When you visit nanoimage.net, we may automatically collect limited technical information, such as browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages, pages visited, approximate region or country, date and time of access, and basic usage events such as tool page visits or button clicks.
This information helps us improve website performance, fix bugs, understand which tools are useful, and protect the website from abuse.
2.3 Cookies and Similar Technologies
NanoImage may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies to remember language preferences, improve website performance, store temporary tool settings in your browser, understand aggregate usage trends, and prevent abuse or spam.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work properly if cookies or local storage are disabled.
2.4 Contact Information
If you contact us, we may collect information you provide, such as name, email address, message content, and any attachments or screenshots you choose to send. We use this information only to respond to your request and provide support.
3. How We Use Information
We may use collected information to provide and improve NanoImage tools, process images or files when required by a specific feature, improve website speed and reliability, analyze aggregate usage trends, detect and prevent abuse or security issues, respond to user questions, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Browser-Based Processing
Many NanoImage tools are designed to run directly in your browser using web technologies such as Canvas, WebAssembly, or client-side scripts.
Examples of browser-based tools may include Compress Image, Resize Image, Crop Image, Rotate Image, Flip Image, Convert Image, Convert to WebP, Image to PDF, Remove EXIF, Add Text, Add Watermark, Blur Image, and Pixelate Image.
For these tools, your image files may be loaded into your browser memory for processing, but they are not intentionally uploaded to NanoImage servers.
5. Server-Side Processing
Some future tools may require server-side processing, such as AI Remove Background, AI Upscale, AI Enhance, URL to Image, Video to GIF, large batch processing, or API-based services.
If a tool requires server-side processing, we may temporarily upload and process your file to provide the requested result. Unless otherwise stated, uploaded files for server-side tools should be treated as temporary files and deleted after processing or within a reasonable period necessary to operate the service, troubleshoot errors, and prevent abuse.
6. File Metadata
Some image files may contain metadata, such as EXIF data, camera model, date, location, or device information.
NanoImage may provide tools to remove metadata, such as Remove EXIF. However, we cannot guarantee that every type of metadata will be removed from every file format in every situation. You are responsible for checking downloaded files before sharing them publicly if metadata removal is important to you.
7. Third-Party Services
NanoImage may use third-party services to operate and improve the website, such as hosting providers, analytics providers, error monitoring services, content delivery networks, security and anti-abuse services, payment processors if paid features are added later, and AI or file-processing providers if AI tools are added later.
These third parties may process limited information according to their own privacy policies and our instructions where applicable.
8. Analytics
We may use privacy-conscious analytics tools to understand aggregate usage, such as page views, tool usage, device types, and general traffic sources. Analytics data is used to improve NanoImage and is not intended to identify individual users.
9. Advertising
NanoImage may display advertisements in the future. If advertising is added, third-party advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show relevant ads and measure performance. If advertising is introduced, we may update this Privacy Policy with additional information and user choices where required.
10. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
- Browser-based tool files are not intentionally stored by NanoImage.
- Contact emails may be retained as long as needed to respond and maintain support records.
- Analytics data may be retained in aggregate form for product improvement.
- Server-side processed files, if any, are generally retained temporarily unless otherwise stated.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through NanoImage. However, no website, browser tool, or internet transmission is completely secure. You should avoid uploading highly sensitive, confidential, illegal, or regulated content unless you fully understand the risks.
12. Children's Privacy
NanoImage is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to use online services without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
13. International Users
NanoImage may be accessed from different countries and regions. By using nanoimage.net, you understand that information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. If required by applicable law, we will provide appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
14. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights related to your personal information, such as the right to access information we hold about you, request correction or deletion, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, or request a copy of your information.
To make a request, contact us at support@nanoimage.net.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the Effective date or Last updated date above. Your continued use of NanoImage after changes are posted means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
